what are the best shocks to replace the factory ones????

 

It is an option that goes well if you do plow. The bigger alternator helps with the head lights from dimming while operating plow with stereo, extra lights, phones plugged, etc. The different front end meant little as I installed a lift.

 

You are so right. Things like that happened before and when you try something new it is a pleasant surprise.

 

As far as shocks either Rancho or Bilstein. I used Bilstein last time so this time I will go with Rancho 9000's.

 

I wonder how long the OEM's last. My 04, F-250, 6.0 has 44k of no off-road driving & they still seem fine. But sometimes things wear out so slowly that's it's hard to tell. My OEM steering stabilizer went at about 42K & I only knew from the hydraulic fluid on driveway.

 

My last truck had 86K on it when I sold it. Shocks were fine.

I took one down and tried to compress it and it was very resistant.

 

Weighing in on the shocks.... My OEM shocks were totally shot after 17k miles.

 

Hello dualwheels66, I have an F250 with the plow package (I wish it didn't, but I bought it used) I'm not going to plow with it and might change the front springs due to the harsh front end ride, what brand of shocks did you get?
Something that takes the jolt out of bumps would be great, but I don't need a harsher ride. Its bumpy everywhere....

 

anyone using the Monroe Magnums? Just got some-without doing research beforehand.
