Trying to straigten out vacuum lines

Okay, I know it isn't a truck, but the engine is the same, regardless.
It's a 1977 Cougar XR7 with a 351M.
Just recently purchased it and runs decently, however the vacuum lines are a complete mess. It looks like there are missing lines and possible re-routing to where they shouldn't go?
Anyway, I've been trying to find some pictures and CLEAR diagrams to give myself of an idea on how this needs to be.

I understand that there was originally a rat's nest of vac. line in the engine from the factory and there's a way that everything can be cleaned up so it's nice and neat?

Anyway any help in this would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I have no clue what a car would have had for vacuum lines - especially since you may have emissions equipment to deal with. But here's what a truck would need without emissions equipment:
  • Vacuum modulator on transmission, assuming an auto
  • Vacuum advance on the dizzy. I always use ported and not manifold vacuum for this.
  • HVAC controls: on the 80-86 trucks the line goes into the cab by the passenger's side hood hinge.
  • Power brake booster
  • Cruise control

Buy this: Then you'll have the correct info for both Vacuum & wiring for around $10.00.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-FORD-LTD-II-MERCURY-COUGAR-WIRING-DIAGRAMS/130214553272?_trksid=p2050601.c100271.m3466&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140716145905%26meid%3D7d431e8b38ab4cf9bc602323caf22576%26pid%3D100271%26prg%3D20140716145905%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D130214553272%26clkid%3D9120427901931937178&_qi=RTM1562569
