95 f350 diesel

I just bought a 1995 F350 crew cab dually diesel. Where is the "chip" located.
I have a more power, better mileage chip ordered to install but I am new to fords. I haven't owned a Ford in 30 years, but this was too good of a deal to pass up, it has 140,000 original miles, looks like new inside. It will get a paint job this winter, it has been parked under a pecan tree most of its life, except when the previos owner was moving cows. Body is good except for 1 rear fender, and he had it already, it just needs paint. It sat for over a year so I am treating the fuel with Lucas injector cleaner and Marvel mystery oil. It is running better now, no sputtering at idle, starts easy. I am going to run it a couple hundred miles this weekend with the heavy treated fuel, and try to get all the old fuel out of the tanks. Oil looks good and trans fluid is red and not burnt. I will change both oil and trans fluid next week. Is there anything I need to watch out for with these 7.3's. It is a load pulling hoss for no more rated hp than it has.

Get some diesel fuel anti-bacterial treatment…it will kill the bacteria that lives in the fuel tank. That stuff plugs up fuel filters and makes life hell until you get it out of the system. Regular treatments won't kill it.

I parked my Peterbilt twice for a total of 34 months. The first time I didn't treat the fuel during storage and had to change 10 filters in the first few thousand miles. I learned my lesson.

Post pics of this thing!

Remove the emergency brake bracket and the first thing you will see is your PCM. Remove the rectangular plastic peice off the PCM then clean the area where your chip slides on to real good or else the chip may not get a good connection. But don't clean it too much or you'll rub the gold plating off and this will cause a poor connection or a no start

I would like to know how you ordered a chip without the ECM code. You do not know the ECM code because it is on the ECM. In order to read the ECM code, you have to remove the ECM. In order to remove it, you need to know where it is

Make sure you buy a few fuel filters, know how to remove them with the proper disconnect tools, use some howes or fleet treat before you take off to put on its first few hundred miles.

I ordered the chip from a diesel chip online store, I hope it works, it is supposed to be for 95 ford's with the 7.3. I don't know anything other than that. I have changed the oil-filter, and the fuel filter, it did have some gunk on it. I cleaned the fuel filter holder and filled it with fresh diesel, put in the new filter. I have driven it a couple hundred miles now with the heavy treated fuel and it runs like a new truck now, no sputtering or clattering, other than the diesel noise. I will post a pic when I get time( and figure out how). It looks good in pics but the paint is rough, and I have a passenger side fender to paint and install. Running boards will be installed in a couple weeks, fender to fender.
