Spliced into harness.




What??? Does anybody have a clue what this is. It is in my truck under the hood, spliced to the factory harness. There is no manufacturer or numbers on the unit. I have a 2004 F250 with a 6.0 4x4. I'm thinking it may be a anti theft device but I am unsure. If it is not serving a purpose I'd like to remove it. Thanks

 

Have you unraveled it and it has butt splices or something? What color wires did they splice into? Are both black boxes spliced in or is one original? Just trying to get a direction to go when looking at the diagrams.

OK, here is what these are spliced into, And neither of these 2 things seem original. No names, no numbers, no nothing. What you see is whats available as far as the components are concerned.

First on the rear most harness from the PCM has 1 cut wire. It is a green/black wire which has the blue wire from the box to one side and the yellow on the other.

The rest of the wires are spliced to the middle harness from the PCM.

#1) as above one wire is cut, a purple/light blue. This has the green and the white wire spliced, one at each side.

#2) Red goes to a blue/light blue wire

#3) Gray goes to a brown/white wire

#4) Another white wire goes to what appears to be just a blue wire.

That is all I have. If someone can shed some light on at least where they are spliced into, we may be able to figure out what this thing is.
