Are you coating the tank before install?? If so, what are you using to prevent rust in the future. Here in Baja, with the salty air, everything rusts. Our joke is that even plastic rusts in La Ribera.. so it is on my mind all the time. Looks like you are doing things right Amigo, keep the photos coming..

If they salt the roads in Maryland, I would coat the bottom of the tank with some spray on, or brush on, undercoat... also, if you let your truck sit some in the winter, be sure to fill the tank before storage. The air, in the tank, can and will condense, sink to the bottom, and start inside rust... less air = less rust... but you probably already know this stuff....

Shoot in in epoxy, and maybe some sort of urethane. Then you can coat it with 3M's Body Shutz undercoat. I bought a 30 dollar undercoating gun off of Amazon, works like a charm.

Well two steps forward and four back. Was making good progress until getting metal in my eye. Go figure, wearing a face shield wasn't enough. So went to the eye doctor to have metal removed and get eye drops to keep from getting an infection. Luckily got away with a small scratch and a few days off from working on the truck. And to top off the week, it loks like there is a tropical storm coming for the weekend. Oh joy.
Everyone stay safe and good luck on your projects.

You would think that a face shield would be enough, but apparently not. I always wear a pair of safety goggles, not glasses, as the goggles have a seal around the face, sort like a swim mask... not much gets in... at least not so far..
When I was a "He Man" logger, in the North woods, falling big redwoods, I was too Manly man, to wear any protection, and paid for it with a number of wood shavings in my eyes... Stupid is all I can say for that Macho stuff... or chit... Wear your protection, and stay safe amigo... hope your eye cures quick...
