My son came in this evening with his truck and said it was making a noise in the front end. After the normal check for wear and tear items we discovered where the front end bolts to the frame in the center is the problem. All but one bolt is broke or missing. What's the best fix? Replace with hardened bolts and move on?

 

Hard to say without seeing it. Can you post pics?

Yup grade 8 bolts and myself I avoid the use of split lock washers for something like that, I use self locking nuts so no split washer to fail falling out.
