'68 King Ranch seat swap?

Looking to buy some 2005 King Ranch seats out of an F-250. I am away from my truck right now. And was wondering the dimensions of the seats if they would fit. Do not mind some fabrication. Concerned with the width and depth. Any info would be helpful even if directed to another feed. I know this may not be unique swap.

Ummm.... I think your best bet would be to post your question in the later model forum and ask an owner to measure and post the dimensions.

Please clarify.

Are you asking if the newer seat will fit in a bump side cab, and want the dimensions of the stock bump side cab, and/or seat? Or, do you want the dimension of the later seat out of the 2005 King Ranch F250.

I understood the question as the latter.

As did I. I know guys have swapped in bucket seats many a time. But the super duty captains chairs are quite large. I think it would be hard to get them to fit in a regular cab bump truck.

murpher25 Welcome to and the Bumpside Forum.

The later trucks have much larger cabs. I would not go buy seats without having measurements with me. my2

I do believe you will sit higher and closer to the steering wheel. I don't think that's the direction anyone wants with these small cabs.

My 1st gut reaction was sure, If you turn a regular cab 8 ft bed truck in to a supercab with a short bed. Only being 1/2 humorous here. I think that end result would be COOL and different.

King Ranch Seats in a 68

The King Ranch seats are a wonderful piece of seatng, but I sincerely believe you do not have enough room between the rear glass and trhe steering wheel. I have a 67 that that the owner put plush bench/buckets out of of a 70's Grand Marquis or LTD and there is hardly enough room for me behind the wheel. Granted I am a bit thicker around the middle, Maybe 70's Mustang or Cougar buckets which are a lot thinner in profile. Good luck any how. I hope it works for you.

I am just over seas and do not have access to the tools I normally have.i.e my truck, or a used car lot....Thank you for your inputs. I knew the cabs might be bigger but was not sure if by how much. And the clarify I was wondering the width and depth of the '68 stock seats and will take the question to some of the late model threads to ask for that measurement. I was trying to get some slight direction. My return will be in the winter so was going to start some mods. Pictures can only tell you so much. might ask about captain chairs or the rear seat from an expedition same trim level. Did call an upholstery shop in my town and it was arm and a leg to get equal quality recover. And as you have noticed new to this whole forum thing.

This member is going to part out this 2003 Harley F150, Ya might PM him about the front buckets and console or the rear buckets and their console. You'd have to come up with the seat tracks though.

I knew from the pictures of it I saw on the website that it was unlikely it would have any resalable body parts. They don't have the best picture, so you're rolling the dice on these things when you buy stuff unseen. I had hoped that the motor and trans had made it through the wreck okay. The good news is the motor looks so far to have made it through with only some minor bruises. Time will tell once I start pealing the body off of it. The trans wasn't so lucky and now has its own removable bellhousing. I was also hoping I could use the wiring harnesses too, but I'll be lucky to get the engine harness out unscathed.

murpher25, I own 2 trucks a 66 F100 reg cab and a 06 F150 xt cab (4 door, big front door small rear door) (the one in the photo above has large rear door). I just went out and got some measurements.

Closed inside door to door both trucks 59in

Floor to top of seat 66 29in.... 06 39" it has head rest 66 has raised area above foot that 06 does not.

Front of seat to rear wall in 66 29in.... front of seat to rear of seat with moderate back tilt 33 in

Hope this helps a little

I was going to use those seats out of the crew cab but I don't think they fold forward enough to access behind them. I also thought about using the back seats but they're too small.

You will have to remove most all of the bracket from each corner of the KR seat and then figure out how to attach them back to the floor(custom bracket). The KR set I had a had way,way different brackets then what you will need.

The catch is if you want to keep the power sliders you just can't remove enough of the brackets to get them low enough. Maybe if you removed them it would be easier but I never considered it.

I had a set and sold a set.

Wound up with buckets from a Audi (I think) and had to do as described above. I'm 5'9" and I dont think you would want to be any taller and still be comfortable. It's not so much headroom but the increased angle of your right foot on the gas pedal. You kinda have to hold your foot up a bit if you want to just maintain speed.

If I did it again I would rework the floor to sink them in a couple inches.

My CC will have a set of Mastercrafts which I'm hoping will not require dropping them quite so far.

Just a question, but other than for a custom interior updated bucket seats and a really high "cool" factor, what's wrong with the bench?

I'm 6'1" and find my bench seat to be the most comfortable of all the vehicles I've ridden in. And all I did was rebuild it with a little extra foam.
