'03 E-350 Motorhome Fuel draining help
Hey so i'm currently working on my E-350 and it has a full tank of gas. Go figure, huh? Fuel pump decides to die right when it got filled up. So i need help trying to get the gas out. 35 gallons of good gas. anyone have any ideas? It does have a siphon block so i haven't been successful at getting a hose in to drain it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

The other option is get some cargo straps to hold the tank, then loosen the straps holding it and use the cargo straps to lower the tank enough to get a siphon hose into the pump opening.
That's the only things I can think of? Good luck.
Are you sure the pump is dead? Maybe it is just a bad connection to the pump?

I don't know your tank configuration. Does the tank have a separate vent hose and fill hose? The vent hose is about 3/4 inch and if you can get it off the pipe on the tank, you could get a 3/8 or maybe 1/2 inch hose in there for a siphon? I don't know if there is any valve on the vent hose, the dual tanks on my '88 were just straight pipe into the tank.

I didn't find any screens or anti-siphon stuff on my '88. Might be too old? The fuel pump has a "sock" on the inlet to the pump.

Another option is to get a 2x4, strap it to the tank and use a floor jack to lower the tank. If you don't have another person to help you lower the jack as you balance the tank, you can remove the saddle and bolt the 2x4 to the jack. Then strap the 2x4 to the tank.
I have no experience with RVs, but I assume there is no way to easily access the top of the fuel tank through the floor? Some of the cargo van guys choose to cut a hole above the tank rather than dropping it.
Spray the bolts/nuts on the straps holding up the tank with Kroil/WD-40 before loosening them. Makes it a lot easier.
