My 96 bench seat is split at the seams and its getting worse, can I buy a replacement cover from anywhere, so that it matches the rest of the interior ?

AFAIK, no one supplies the original sewn seat covers. Genuine Ford seat covers are obsolete, were very expensive when they were available.

 

OK it looks like a job for the local upholsterer. I'll get one of those cheap saddle blankets to protect it once done.

I am surprised there is nobody making replacement covers, as there seems to be a ready supply for most old Fords, mustangs etc.

 

I'm traveling but will try to find some of my bookmarks next week. There are some really nice, well fitted covers that don't look like a cover at all.

 

Automotive Interiors & Accessories for cars, trucks, vans, & suvs looks like they can furnish a replacement, but it won't be a precise copy of the original. You're going to be in it for a good several hundred bucks all done, and that's with you doing the work. LMC has a kit but it is not exact either, and is pricier. If you are at the point where you need new main foam too, it's probably time to look for an upholsterer, because upholstery has got to be about the most physically demanding part of a restoration.
