opinions on draglink and centerlink manuf.

I'm converting my 77' F-150 to the 78-79 tie rod set up. I'm just looking for general opinions on these parts and manufacturers.

I think that I'm, either going with LMC or Rock auto.

LMC:

So for the whole kit at LMC I would end up paying $240, from some unknown manufacturer (probably in Taiwan). Only good thing about LMC would be that I don't have to pay for shipping since they are only 15 minutes away.

Adjuster Sleeves:

Can I just reuse the sleeve off of my '77 set-up? Or just drop the $20-30 on a new one?

There's one from MOOG, ACDELCO, and Raybestos on Rock Auto all for about $30:

Tie Rod End

I'll probably just go with this one from Raybestos unless anyone has a negative opinion of them, or if I can get it cheaper locally at oreillys.

More Information for RAYBESTOS 4011201B

Thanks

Miz

Go New and use MOOG parts and it's hard to beat Rock Auto's prices unless you order the wrong part and have to send it back ..

What exactly is the advantage of paying more for MOOG over Raybestous parts?

At one time I could honestly say that you were getting what you payed for but more recently like with many companys shipping manufacturing overseas where quality control is not as stringent as US manufactured items it becomes harder to make that claim .. I can only report that through the years Moog's better quality has been noticeable in my experience .. Now it's hard to say whether any manufacturer is willing to uphold there reputation over world market pressues ..

Thanks for the reply Red. So, that's 1 for MOOG, anyone else?

BTW, I think MOOG is a pretty good middle of the road OEM replacement part too. I typically go with MOOG when replacing ball joints.
