When it shuts down, does the engine sputter and die or just turns off?
What parts were tossed at it?
Also do it have a tachometer? If it does, then watch that tach when it shuts down, if the needle is reading RPMs till stall then problem more likely fuel related. If the tach dead lines out at 0 rpm then problem is electrical related.
If you don't have a tach, then it makes it little harder to diagnose.
What I found on my 89 F250 when it did same as your problems the tach went to 0RPM while engine was coasting down. I found the EEC power relay was my problem. Took over a year to figure it out as soon as I tried restarting, truck would run for XX amount of time then failed. There were no ECU codes either.
