Payload

This weekend I bought 8 railroad ties for landscaping and put them in the bed of my truck, It held them pretty darn good, but I was surprised to find that they weighed approx. 200 pounds each. then for good measure I threw in 8 bags of play sand to top off my boys sandbox and 10 bags mulch, I think I was over payload but she did good. Now unloading them things is another story!

Nice load!! I've overloaded mine a few times as well and it handled my chores just fine. Great rugged trucks.

I used to work at a feed supply store and 150s usually took under 2000# better then most 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Over 2000 they seemed to start squatting a lot but overall I was very impressed

This is why, in my opinion, that Ford put some fudge factor in the payload because a lot of us overload our trucks on occasion.

So you had well over 2,000 lbs in the bed of the truck and it wasn't riding on the bumpstops?

1600 approx in RR ties.
say 400 approx in play sand
and maybe another 150-300 lbs for mulch depending on water content.

That's about right except the mulch was really dry and light therefore not weighing very much at all, but yes no bump stops. Now the rear was squatting a little but nothing where I felt unsafe. I looked payload up and it said 1700 so I knew I was right there. Biggest load in almost 2 years!
