Updated Torque PIDs
#46
Yes you get a little status green dot that blinks when the PID is being updated. I'll try the reboot of the adapter and the tablet. I'm running a Samsung Note 8". I'm not sure of the sugar code word... (Ice Cream, Kit Kit, Lolli Pop)...
However the original PID included with Torque operates correctly and updates as it should. I could always just change the forumula on the original PID config and see what happens...

Hey guys.....I am in need of some input on my torque app. I got a new device a week or so ago and noticed that my EOT is reading about 100 degrees less than normal. Today I remembered to check my PIDs to this thread and they matched. I decided to clear the app off the device and start fresh thinking that could help. Well and hour and a half later still the same reading.
I just compared the apps EOT and trans temp knowing they should be close or same on my cold truck. 50 outside and trans reports it to be 50.5. EOT says its 10.5,so I know something is askew. I am lost now on where to go with this.
TIA

Worst case scenario, we'll need to add a "convert" formula to the existing one. (((A*256)+B)/100)-40 is what mine has. So if we would add to that *1.8+32 would we have °F? (((((A*256)+B)/100)-40)*1.8)+32 Could that be right? I'm kind of guessing here but I think that should do it.

The formula on the first page of this thread is bang-on confirmed with AE and an IR thermometer. If I hadn't put so much effort into confirming the accuracy, I wouldn't push it.
Here is another scenario that might be taking place. It's entirely possible you have two PIDs that read EOT, but the long names have to be different. When adding a new gauge, are you sure you grabbed the PID with the correct long name?

Thanks for the input in this. I have tried to delete the EOT gauge and re add it. It is still showing,I'm guessing,Celsius. I have deleted the guage again and will recheck it shortly.
Also the formula for the EOT matched exactly. Tugly, I had also thought that I had the wrong EOT gauge as there are two of them in the list but one of them will not display any readings where as the one I am using will display a reading, just not the one I am wanting.
Will keep checking.

For some strange reason, I had a lot of problems with EOT for a while. I ultimately uninstalled Torque, made sure my Android OS was updated to the latest version, then re-installed the latest Torque. This cleaned up all the problems I was having and it has been rock-stable. It's a bit of work to start from scratch, so it really was a Hail Mary... but it worked for me.

Tug, That was what I was thinking. I did the uninstall yesterday. I am not sure fully how to update the device but I would think it should be up to date. I reinstalled it and a hour and a half later I had it all back where I thought I wanted it and still not reading right.
I may try another long pass later this AM.
