I'm parting a 2WD 88 F250LD and it's time to sell the tranny but I have no idea what to put in the add. It's a cast iron 4 speed that was behind a 4.9.

I'd think NP435 but the shifter screws on.

 

PTO on the passenger side?
What are the numbers cast on the drivers side?

T-18 have a screw on shifter cap.

 

From what I've heard T-18s were more common that NP435. I've tried to look at pics and personally haven't been able to tell the difference. Maybe it's the shifter cap?

 

According to Novak's there should be 13-01 cast on the DS if it is T-18.
The BW gearboxes have a cast iron top cover, New Process is aluminum..

13-09 if it is a T-19 with PTO's on both sides.
I know this was true of my T-19 before I swapped to a 5-speed
