2011+ F super duty DEF reductant heater/sender assembly pics
Picked this up from Tousley ford parts. They have the best prices on the internet, and even with overnight shipping it cost me way less than any local dealer and no tax to boot.
DEF heater/sender assembly
DEF heater/sender interior
DEF heater/sender bottom inlet screen view
DEF heater/sender top view
And I found this video on youtube from ford, talking about the DEF system and service procedures.

Well, soot still is soot, and my truck gets decent mileage and has great power. Now that last metric, 500K, is the only questionable part...

Not so sure. look on the 6.4L forum under my signature about july 2012 for the EPA study on bio diesel impact on DPF equipped engines. Their conclusion:" bio diesel does have a negative impact on the DPF equipped diesels but the test vehicles were tested to 200,000 miles which is twice the life expectancy of a diesel engine". or go to EPA.gov and foillow the trail of millions of dollars they spent to get soot classified a hazzard to health. I think the real problem was gasser drivers were complaining about seeing trucks make black smoke and soot while they were having to put up with all the emissions requirements. Then the EPA went to work to elimoinate the preceived problem. had we just stayed off the go pedal in the 90s we might all still be driving 7.3s.

200000 miles twice the life expectancy of a Diesel engine.. Are you serious? Maybe in a old VW rabbit from the 80's..The old Detroit 60 series in the truck I drive at work has almost 900000 and it is still going strong.. I've heard of 5.9 cummins and the old 7.3 going 500000.. Even the POS gm 6.2 can go over 200000 miles if cared for
