1956 F100 4x4. American Coleman

Hey everyone! Looking for some info on this truck I have. It is a 1956 f100 with a American Coleman 4x4 conversion. Has anyone ever seen one? Does anyone know how many were built? I have seen many Marmon Harrington conversions and Napco but this is a first for me. If anybody has any info please let me know thanks

Is it this one? It's the only one I recall seeing on the market in recent years. Other F-250s and F-350s have turned up, but only this F-100 to my recall. One of our members walked right to the edge of the cliff thinking of buying this black one, but didn't jump. He might stop by here to comment. Your truck is rare as they come, and judging by the challenges us M-H owners face putting one back together, I have great respect for your willingness to be your truck's care giver. As for a source for parts and service I'd suggest checking with Chuck Mantiglia of Chuck's Trucks. Link below. He has a Coleman F-7 so will have parts sources lined up I suspect. And BTW, welcome to the group. Stu

If your truck is a black long bed it has been thru several owners over the last few years.

I cant tell you how many times I ALMOST purchased that truck. Because of the lack of info and supply of replacement parts I decided to pass on the cool truck. Did I mention how cool it is...... I really like it!

Yes it is the black long bed truck. There actually isn't much to worry about. It uses f600 drums brakes etc. thanks for the info I'm assuming that this is the only f100 that exists that I know of.

I didn't know that, the thing I disliked the most is the rim style and the missing hub caps (sure they could be made)

Like I said its a cool truck it just wasn't for me. I'm waiting for the Marmon Herrington

Hi maybe its a regional thing, they were quite popular here on the east
coast mainly F5s & F6s. Logan airport had those with snow blowers.
My freind has one big cast hubs with Coleman cast on it.

Even the supply of F600 brake drums is pretty much out. Donor trucks can help. I suspect that I may just possibly own "the" last pair of NOS.

Nice toy! We might have left a bit of drool on it. Sorry..

Here's another that I have of its unique Coleman hub and rim. I'll also post pics of an earlier F-1 to show the special hub caps that these trucks came with and the schematic drawing of the hub. Stu

Thanks for the pics, Stu. What's the story on the '51? Don't recall seeing that one before.

I don't recall its history. Probably was on ebay I'm gonna guess and I saved the pics. Here's a Coleman factory pic I know I lifted off eBay. Stu
