Garrett rebuild kit

Hi all. In the process of getting ready to rebuild my turbo. Upon researching rebuild kits there is an option for a 360 degree thrust bearing.

Is it worth buying this upgrade or not?

Also, don't really want to get a kit that is not of good quality. Where would be a good place to buy a rebuild kit? I see Riff Raff sells a kit and there are others. Just don't want to do this twice in going cheap on a rebuild kit. Or, all the kits the same. Going by the write up by Benchwrench. Very nice write up.

Compressor wheel? Riff Raff has one and Strickly Diesel has one. Anyone have any feedback on either of these wheels?

Any advice is greatly appreciated and thx in advance,
Eddy

I would DEFINITELY add the 360 degree thrust bearing.

Gpopshop is a good place to get the rebuild kit.

Thx for the quick reply. Going to order my additonal parts this morning. My turbo is not leaking. Just sticking and getting the PO229 code only when pulling my TT. Since I'm taking it off to clean it I might as well rebuild it. Got 144K on it and it hasnt been clean once.

I'll make sure to get the 360 degree bearing. What's the benefit of having the 360 bearing? Better oil control?

Thx again,
Eddy

Seems gpopshop is the way to go. Caught many positive reviews. I'll give them a call. That 360 bearing is surely better.

Thanks for all the info.

Thanks, I will and thanks for the excellent write up on the rebuild. Question. The Garrett kit you bought. Did it come with O-rings and housing ORings? Did you purchase your kit direct from Garrett?

There's a international recondition kit but can't seem to find their part # Does anyone have that # and what's included in their kit?

Thx, Eddy.

All the seals are in the kit.
I think the solenoid gasket and seals are in there too but not sure, you'd have to ask about that or check in the box once you get it.
Cheers
