No brake lights or turn signals

ok I've got a 66 f100 and just rebuilt the engine. My problem is that I no longer have brake lights or turn signals. I thought it must have been the turn signal switch so I replaced that. no luck. Next I got a voltage tester and found that the small fuse on fuse panel wasn't reading anything so I replaced it. not sure if this would be correct fuse or not but it still isn't getting power. The only wiring that I changed was going to a 1 wire alternator. Could this be where mynproblem is?????

FYI: Turn signals & brakes share the same 2 wires of a 3 wire group going to the rear of the truck. My first guess is something along the firewall got knocked loose or a fuse blown. With the ign sw on do you have flashing lights on the front?

Check the wiring at the master cylinder and in the engine bay.

I asked a moderator to move your thread to the 1961/66 forum. You typed it in the 1967/72 forum.

If suggestions made by other members has not solved the problem you may try checking the turn signal fuse, not sure if it would have an impact on the brake lights, perhaps more knowledgeable member can advise?? As mentioned, there's a pressure stop switch on the brake line distributer, suggest check the connections. Also check the connections at the flasher unit. My experience tracking down electrical gremlins is that in many cases the problem tends to be a poor ground.

Talking

So it turns out that I changed the wrong fuse. When I shined a flashlight on fuse panel I saw that the one I needed to change was bad so I swapped it out and everything works now. The switch needed to be replaced anyway it had some jerry rigged wiring and was pretty sloppy so all good. Thanks everyone for your help.
