Memphis area offroad parts
Once I get home and settled I plan on some serious truck work -
Including fabrication and welding. There's no time like the present to find out where I can get basic parts from; like tires, bushings, lift kits, shocks, etc...
I heard of one place at a crossroads somewhere, but I never wrote it down.
Any input here?

Now that helps a lot!
There must be others though... I want to find all of them.
(I already have a pretty tight contact at a salvage yard that is very local. A1 Auto Salvage on H-51. Gary is awesome - you don't find a lot of old school people these days, he's one)
I found some of my notes:
Has anyone checked out "John Walls Off Road" -somewhere around Austin Peay and Stage Road?
And Gary was telling me about a place called "C&H Driveshaft" at 6076 Hwy 51 (near Covington, maybe?) that will build trick shaft yokes with a wider swing than a stock one...
There is something else here about "Daughtery's Welding" (Also recommended by Gary). I think it was about getting shafts and housings shortened to fit. I remember talking to him about spin balancing and all of that stuff...

I have bought a lot of stuff from John - he is not expensive and a nice guy, once you get used to the fact he wears the phone in an ear piece and answers it when you think he is talking to you........
He can order most anything, everything I got there he charged less than other places I got quotes from.
You can't miss the place, it is below the 64, with a HUGE American Flag flying outside.

john walls is out towards me, still in the new and expanded Memphis, which now rules as far as the Fayette countly line. He wants to move east, to get away from the newly imposed Memphis property taxes. A lot of people are trying to do the same - a lot the houses along the 64 have for sale signs up...
