Can someone tell me why my Ford Touch drops the ability to text message? I get a message that my device does not support txt messaging. To correct it, I have to delete the phone and re-Sync it to the My Touch system. Starts working for a while.......

When my truck was new, It would work.

The text message feature does not link with androids.. Atleast not on my 2011

 

My 12 F350 without nav would read text from my Android for about six months, now nothing for the past year. Been to Ford three times and on the phone with the sync folks for an hour twice. No results, but it'll **** you right off!

I don't have myford touch, just plain old sync. I think it is easier for Apple to keep the iPhone software up to date and Ford to keep the bluetooth working. I simply press the button on the phone and use the truck as a speaker/microphone and the iPhone/siri as the brains.

To each his own specialty.

We tested these phones to see which features they're compatible with.

We have no way of reducing functionality as SYNC's features are phone-dependent.

Which iPhone do you have?

I have an iphone 5Model MD659LL/A, through Verizon version 7.1.1(11D201) No text.

according to your list there is only a small amount of apple phones that can text and they are all ios update 6.1.4 when will you have a current version for the iphone?

 

I have a Motorola RAZR, 2012 model. My texts did work from the time the truck was delivered in October of 2012 to about March April of 2013. After that nothing... I think the sync system with out nav isn't being supported as much, so buyers will purchase vehicles with the my Ford touch to get these features. All it would take is for a dealer to update the radio while in for service and bam no text. If not, why do you suppose my text feature no longer works?

 

Ford told me the sync wouldn't read tests. I too use siri. I just looked at my Iphone 4s and cant find "show notifications" in my phone?

It's possible your cell phone provider made a change to their Bluetooth protocol settings with a recent firmware update, McFarlandkm.

I recommend contacting Apple, eberlestock, to see if this option was taken away or moved.
