2013 E350, One of the power door lock makes noise but doesnt open...
In my 2013 E350, the passenger side power door lock makes a sound and does not actuate/open. For lack of a better description, it makes a sound like a toy machine gun and lasts for about half a second. It only happens occasionally and usually when using my remote (which is what I use most frequently), though I have used the switch that unlocks all doors and it has occurred as well. The problem only happens sometimes, so I was hoping it would fail entirely before I go to the dealership and attempt to get the one lock to not work for them, which may happen on the first try or handle 50 clicks and work fine.
Ironically a buddy of mine has the same issue with his van.
Is it an issue of lube or parts alignment, or a failing power lock part? Simple fix or should I have the dealership do it? Thanks for the assistance!

If this issue is covered via an existing warranty certainly have the dealership take care of it.
The servo is either beginning to fail OR the wiring leading to it have become damaged and limiting current flow.
Since this is intermittent I'd say its a servo issue. If you need help how to change it DIY I could help.
Lemme know!

Thanks for the info. I will take mine to the dealership and get the situation fixed under warranty. My friend and I want to try and conquer his faulty lock on our own. His lock stopped working. It makes the machine gun noise every time and wont open. We want to buy the part or parts before dismantling...is the servo you are referring to a part of the actuator? Is the actuator the part we need? Please advise.

"Actuator" & "servo" are one and the same part---some call it a solenoid!
Depending where you'll buy the electrical please get one that's designed specifically for your friend's van, not one of those generic POS's.
You'll want to specify which door you're working on because there is a slight difference in them location-wise.
I'm here to help if needed.
