Greetings, 1999 F350 project begins
I just wanted to take a moment to say hello to all. New member to the forum as I just purchased a new to me 1999 F350. I have always had a lot of luck and had a lot of enjoying discussions regarding vehicles I have owned on forums and after researching around the internet, I found this forum coming up over and over.
My truck; Although I have owned several Ford puck-ups in the passed, this is my first personally owned Super Duty and I am glad to have it. I have always been impressed with the absolute tank like construction that goes into these trucks and after a long search, I found the one that fits my needs. I look forward to bringing this truck up to speed (the last owner was fairly abusive to it) and making improvements to make it "mine". I hope I can use this forum as a source of knowledge based on the experience of all of the fellow members.
I have owned the truck for only a couple weeks at this point but it has already gone through several changes.
- The first thing I did was get new wheels and install some newer tires I had on it to replace the worn ones it cam with. They same model and size (Toyo Open Country 285 75 16).
- I fixed a couple minor issues like the shifter cap being missing.
- Then I replaced the rear bumper which was pretty beat up with a new 08-12 style one. It bolted right in.
- The drivers side headlight was pretty smashed where it mounts so I have a set of 05 Harley Davidson style headlights sitting in the shop with the front all torn apart being modded to mount them. I ran out of time before having to go to work or it would be done. I should have it finished up tomorrow morning.
- I pulled the crome fender flares off and found a lotta-bit-a rust under them so I will be fixing that and replacing them with Bushwacker Pocket Style flares Friday.
-Saturday, it's got an appointment to have the front bumper replaced with a winch bumper and bull bar.
-Then Sunday my father in law is going to give me a hand applying a roll on bed liner to the bed. We will also be pulling off the chrome looking rocker panel guards with roll on bed liner.
- I also ordered an 05 style front grille to replace the chrome one that looks pretty beat up. That will be a quick install when it shows up.
Ill post pics as things change. Here is a pic of how it sat the day I got it after pulling the old tool box that wouldn't shut out.

Thank you Icicle...
Your just a few hours from me. By any chance is your name a reference to the weather in your area? I was in Post Falls the first weekend in March teaching a carbine course to some National Guard troops and the name Icicle would definitely apply to that weather!
