Help!
Ok, I should have checked my Chilton's first, but I didn't. I was taking on the "simple task" of changing my fuel filter since it's never been done. I just got this truck about 2 mos. ago and am doing a full tune-up. It's a 1993 F150 302 Fuel Injected. I got the"quick connect" coupler off the fuel filter, not the way I should have, but they came off. On each side, the O-rings and spacers came out of the line, they were pretty worn out so I went to Ford and they don't sell just the O-rings, you have to buy the whole fuel line. Turns out they no longer make or sell the fuels line for a truck older than 8 years. So I went to NAPA and they were at a loss on what to do, either have someone build a custom line or go to a junk yard. Could I just put new a new line 5/16'' on from the front steel tube to the rear steel tube next to the gas tank and splice in the fuel filter witha couple of hose clamps? The guy at NAPA said it would leak since it's fuel injected. I'm surprised to hear that it would leak if I put 2 hose clamps on either side of the fuel filter that it would leak......The stinken radiator hose is held on by one of em. Advise Please!!!

Check out aHVAC & plumbing supply store. One that sells Fuel Oil Parts. They'll set you up. They make quick couplers for fuel oil lines. MAKE SURE you use the band type of hose clamps (2 at each end) of the splice. Any decent auto parts store should have them. They say on the package- FOR FUEL INJECTION USE. $2.00 for 4 of them. For a couple of cents more, they sell short pcs. of tubing to finish the splice.
