351w ignition help

351w ignition help

I have an 82 f250 351w and you could not advance the timing so I bought a ready to run distributor the mechanical and vac advance and also a msd blast 2 coil my question do I need to replace the ingniton box or do I need any thing else at all my truck has a towing cam and I will be running 9 mm ford racing plug wires don't know much about ignition system any help would be great

Also should the plug gap be different from factory switching the ignition system

What do you mean by ready-to-run distributor? The stock ignition uses a magnetic trigger to the DSII module. Some aftermarket distributors require an ignition module, some have them built in.

Magnetic pick-up, so it should work with the stock DSII module.
