92 f150 302 no power!!!

i have a 92 f150 5-speed 302 and i took it off-roading a couple weeks ago in some mud, and ever since that night my truck seems to be really slow at accelerating and is a total dog. i thought maybe i blew something from all the high revs in the mud but i'm not sure what to check. i've been driving it for a few weeks like this already, it has good oil pressure, and doesn't smoke or anything. it starts great and revs good in neutral, it just seems to take a while to build up the rpms under load. what should i check first?

Might try a fuel filter just for laughes and giggles. Might of kicked up some dirt from the tank or something like that into the pump and lines and its partially clogging the filter. If that don't work then something else is going on. Not saying for sure or anything like that buts its always possible.

anyone else have any idea what would cause my truck to be really sluggish under load? it takes a while for the rpms to climb. if i put it in neutral and rev it, it revs quick like it should

Have you checked under the truck and made sure you didn't smash the exhaust on anything. I would also check the air filter.

Thats actually a good idea check the exhaust, you might still be able to sit there and rev it all day just fine but you might only have enough pipe left open for the truck to idle and have no power under load. I'd give it all a good solid once over and check a few other things as well just to see what helps and what leaves it the same.

Have you popped the dist. cap and see what it looks like in there. Or plug wires.

i haven't check looked at the distributor, but it had a tune up with plugs wires, cap/rotor about 15,000km ago. and i put a scan tool on to see if there was any codes, and it came up with an egr sensor code and speed sensor, but the egr has already been deleted on the truck.
