Old Ansen Slot Mags - worth anything?

Maybe it's not so Ford specific, but my '73 Ford Club Wagon came with an original set of Ansen slot mag wheels that the original owner had special ordered when he first bought the van new that year. They're pretty light so I'm guessing they're aluminum.

I replaced them, since 16.5 tires are nearly impossible to find, so now I have the set sitting around with (what looks like) the original Firestone Wide Oval tires mounted (yikes!).

Anyone know if the wheels are worth anything? 8 x 16.5

Nice rims! Not sure how much they are worth, but I would be interested in them if you decide to sell. Getting them ready to ship might be a hassle for you though. Email me at pryorstemmed@live.com if you decide on a price with shipping to 59014!!

Here shock yourself with a phone call, be setting down AKH Vintage Wheels - Ellensburg Washington

36x12.50x16.5, and 37x12.50x16.5 military take off's are easy to acquire. 8" wise rim IMO not so good for 12.50 and most 16.5 tires commonly come in a 3312.50) and wider x16.5 and up or you can get some old skinny style 7.00 or 9.00 farm tires that will fit the 8" wide rime better.

I have seen the 16.5 x 9.75 wide slotted mags 8 on 6.5 for sale for 3 to 4 hundred a (4) set.

Seems like pricing is all over the place depending on where you look and how shiny you can get 'em.

Yes, a couple have more curb rash than others, but they're in pretty good shape overall. Thanks for the link 77, I'll call them to gauge it.

Pryo, I'll get back to you on that--I'll be shipping from Brooklyn, so that'll probably be a little pricey.

That place in WA is ridiculous. When I wanted a set of 15"x12" or 14" turbines for my 74 Bronco to kinda match my f250's. They said if they had them $1200 for the 12" $1500 for the 14" . I know they legalized weed up their, these boys have been dipping into the stash for a while. I got my turbines for $350. Scarcity drive the market value. I see them all over the CL sites, but many are far from home and not many want to bother with shipping.Especially when see sets for $150-200 all the time. The lack of tire choices blows. I would love new BFG KM2 mudders, but they don't make em'

Maybe for the next build. I like the 37"s. This build was specifically meant for a 33". Can't get them in a Mudder for a 16.5" like in the old days. I actually have a place dwon the road that sells Military surplus tires, like $50-80 depending on condition. They will all be old stock though, alway check the date codes on them. I will just have to play with the 33" I will get soon. The ones on there are old and just holding up to the little driving I am putting them through till I get the new ones. I really wanted General red Labels but wouldn't you know it they don't make a 16.5"

I found a new set of 33x12.50x16.5 in a tire surplus place, local to me, "what ever" brand MT's for like $700, now that's crazy.

I know you can order 33's in a 16.5 from 4wheel parts.com. $$ ouch though

yes right get off the "C" pipe and try again. Or was that the hand delivered with new 33x12.50x16.5 mud tires, new chrome center caps and chrome lug nuts, after polishing to a nice shine and then install for you and wash your truck?

Crazy numbers the ones out of Detroit that are remanufactured are Under $2000 shipped, that's still crazy. I have these polished for $200 for the set, mine are more complicated so it will be more, but even so way out of line. Tire rack has my BFGs delivered for $840. So worst case scenario $1700 tops with tires polished and mounted. Guess it may be cheaper to get used Hummer rims and get modern tires. Or recenter older Hummer rims and use the 37" if you have the lift and the gearing.

If anyone wants to take these off my hands, send me a PM. Just pay the shipping from 11222 and they're yours.

Only catch is, I have to drop them off at UPS by tomorrow night, Friday the 23rd.

That's awful nice, to give them away for shipping only. FYI they could be about $60 EACH to ship, I shipped a set of aluminium spokes 12x16.5 from Mo to Ky for $240.

It really all depends on the distance sent.

Yeah I realized after paying shipping, no one's going to want to pay another 150 or so ON TOP of that for an old set of wheels.

I have to get rid of them though--storing them inside my little Brooklyn apartment and trying to make some room haha.
