Fuel level sending unit for 1985 F150 carbureted?????

Does anyone have any info on a fuel level sending unit for a 1985 f150 with carburetor / mechhanical fuel pump? I can find 80-84 units and 85-86 EFI units, but nothing for a carb 85. The older tanks have a smaller hole so they won't work, and I don't know if an EFI unit would work by simply omitting the in tank pump. Also my tank is a 16? gallon midship mounted tank on a reg cab short bed, any info would be greatly appreciated!

If i read right you have the 16 gallon side tank with the 3 5/8ths hole if i remember right. Hate to tell you this but your not going to find that sending unit for that tank, I had to get the tank with the smaller hole, for some reason they dont sell that sending unit for the 16 gallon tank.

I was afraid of that, guess I'm headed back to the junkyard to find the best 81-84 tank out there, that's kinda what I expected after scouring the internet.

What about LMC part # 43-4037? It says that it fits 85-86 16 gallon tanks on trucks equipped with the 4.9 or 5.8, neither of those engines were equipped with EFI in 85-86. Has anyone ordered this part and if so, is it direct fit?

If i were you buy a plastic tank an then get the sending unit from a junk yard tank, theres going to be so much rust in them junk yard tanks an your going to changing fuel filters left an right before it cleans up an your fuel is gonna look like crap for a while. with the plastic tank you wont ever have to worry about rust.

Reading empty all the time?? Often the brass float will leak and fill up with gas.

The float is completely gone, and the gauge does not move when I have the sending unit plugged in and move the arm... and the circuit is good because if if jump the terminals in the plug, the gauge moves to full...btw I can't find anything on JBG either
