how easy is it to dial back speedometer 95 f250

looking at buyin this truck for 9000$its a 95 f250 with a 7.3 5speed 4x4 but only 154xxx km. this gets me kinda worried specially with the lift tires and rims. this would have to be my daily driver. 154000 km seem really really low, so how likely is it that its false?how can i tell when i go look at it?

That's not unrealistic. I bought my truck 97 f350 with 165,000 on it a couple months ago.

Work truck ? What kind of work truck? Check the edges around the clear shell covering the Guage cluster, see if there are any stress lines or cracks around it

i bought my 94 (work truck) with 129xxx km on it. a work truck has a good chance of having lower mileage than an all-purpose truck if it's not being used for groceries, kids sports, etc.

wear on the clutch and brake pedal rubber can be an indicator, but it can also mislead you if they have been either replaced, or excessively worn by work boots. better to look at the seat and carpet wear.

You can't dial the PSOM back. The only way to change it is to swap out a lower mile PSOM. More than likely what it reads is what is has.

if you are concerned about it, get one of those foxy car reports. As Evan_P said, can't turn these back. They can be turned forward pretty easy but to reduce the mileage you would need a computer that can read and then write to the chip on the PSOM. I have it on fairly good authority that nobody has figured out the correct way to program in a specific mileage. Places on the internet advertise to get you a replacement PSOM with the mileage you want. What they really do is find one that has a lower mileage than yours and then increase the mileage, they don't just program in a specific one.

If the odometer has been turned back, the numbers should be out of alignment. If however, it does not indicate hundreds of thousands of miles, it could have actually 200xxx or 300xxx on it.

if you are canadian like me take the vin number to your local registration office and they can tell you home many KM are on the truck last few times it was registered. and btw in canada it is a federal offence to do that 10 years plus in jail if caught. (im in ontario so we call it the MTO)

The PSOM is a digital display so the numbers are always aligned.
