I own a 1952 Mercury M3 and am wanting to decipher the paint code on the VIN plate screwed to the firewall. This truck was built in Windsor Ontario Canada. The paint code is 34. What is the color of this truck? Thanks for your time.

 

Welcome to the forum! My Canadian catalog says code 34 is Birch Gray. Does that sound right by looking at the color of your truck? Even if it's been repainted a non-original color, chances are it will have some remnant of it's factory finish on some hidden area; under the headliner, behind the seat, firewall, etc.

 

1952 is kind of tricky as it was a supplement to the 1948-1951 parts catalogue but didn't include colour codes as the 1948-1951 book. If I look at my 1952-1954 body parts catalogue shows 34 as lucerne blue but that book also car part listings as well.
