2000 f250 73 ABS problems

The problems that I am having at the moment are that the abs light is on from the speedometer, odometer, also the blinking overdrive light that comes on at around 25 mph. After some research I had purchased a ford factory sensor for the rear dif, around 50$, I then replaced the old sensor with the factory one. Started the truck and not a single thing had changed, both the meters were not working as well as the od light was still flashing. Ive read and heard about many different ways to go about fixing these and would like to see if anyone could give me some input. Thank s

Check connectors and wires under the truck. Did you hit or run over anything?
Check fuses.

The guy I had bought it from had said that it was never in a wreck, before I bought it for my first truck we looked underneath he had ran over something the bracket for the steering stabilizer was bent, no frame or trans damage so I shut my mouth because he sold it for 6 grand. Could it bee the wiring running thru the frame rail? All fuses are in and work.

I don't think anything runs through the frame. Wires etc C channel.
Check connector on rear sensor.. And wire as far as you can.

I just fixed this same problem on my 2000 tonight. I had the same symptoms, and changed the sensor with no results.

I knew it wasn't working when I bought the truck. The owner said it started acting up shortly after he replaced the T-Case. Why I didn't ask him how the heck he broke the t-case, I don't know.

Anyway, I ended up finding two broken wires in the same harness just behind the fuel filter. This is also very close to where there is a large dent in the underside of the truck which looks like it was caused by the transfer case. Either he hit something BIG, or he snapped the old t-case apart and part of the housing caused the dent.

You can jack up the rear of the truck and spin the wheels and get an AC voltage from the sensor. It may be worth finding the red/white and green/black wires for the VSS where they connect under the hood (under the master cylinder) and see if you are getting the same AC voltage there.
