Excursion Lift and Wheel/tire set

Hi ive got a factory 03 excursion 4x4 with the 6.8 v10. Its running 256/75/16 tires and theyre all worn out. Im going to replace them and definitly want to go bigger. I was thinking of going 305/70/r16 if i dont go with a lift or new wheels. Im on a 2000$ budget and was really wanting to go with 35's. What do yall recommend? I was looking at Khumo road venture MT KL71 and some 8 or 9 inch wide wheels. But Im lost as to what lift i should go with. Ive got about 500 left for spending on a lift.

Not sure how much lift you'd need... but if 4" is enough and you don't live in Canada (shipping ) maybe the procomp thread is where you wanna look?

A 305/70/16 on factory rims will fit with no lift, that's what my EX had under it when I bought it. Minor rubbing on edge of leaf spring

james do you have any pictures of what she looks like with 305/70/r16? And did you have to swap the wheels or does the factory 7" wides work? On the lift Im reading somethign about f250 and f350 lifts are 2" higher so am I correct in thinking i can just buy an f250 2" lift and be set with 4inches of lift on my ex?
Thanks for the info on the procomp thread going to go check it out now.

Glad to help! I got my whole suspension setup from him and he was a huge help. I told him up front that I probably couldn't afford the setup he recommended, but by the time i did all the research and after talking to him and listening to his recommendations and reasoning I decided to spend a little more and do it right. He went above and beyond to help me and is a great guy!

Any suggestions on where to buy a set of wheels and tires? i was checking tirerack and i found some khumos for a little over 1000 and a set of 8 inch wide wheels for a little under 600. Did ford offer a factory wheel wider then a 7" that will fit the ex?

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...es-are-in.html

There are pictures of the EX's growth in this thread, from stock height with 305'sand factory wheels, to X codes and modded B code springs, to modded X code springs

Shop around on various sites for tires and wheels, I recently put a set of ATX Mojaves under the truck wrapped with 305/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers and lugs for $1900

I do have access to used leaf springs off of f250's and f350's would that be a no no to put used leaf springs and shocks from an f350 under my ex? And if not would that give the lift needed for 35's or 315's?
I could probably get a set of leaf springs and shocks for 100-150 bucks.

Do a forum search, many people use springs superduty springs. V/B being most popular... I assume X/C would give most lift.

spoke with my boss he said i could get a set of leaf springs for 300. Im gonna try and get him to throw in a 30mm rear sway bar as well. Then gonna grab a set of rancho 9000xl shocks (while theyre on sale). then a set of wheels and tires.

Pretty sure the 06 leafs wont work. Not sure what an I code spring is...

I guess your best/easiest option would be the v/b setup. Some people mod the b code leafs with part of the Ex leafs for extra lift.

*S = 2C34-5310-AAB, 4,000 lb.
*T = 2C34-5310-ABB, 4,400 lb.
*U = 2C34-5310-ACB, 4,800 lb.
*V = 2C34-5310-ADB, 5,200 lb.
*W = 2C34-5310-AEA, 5,600 lb.
*X = 2C34-5310-AFA, 6,000 lb.

You'd also have to get answers from someone smarter than me as to whether or not the DRW C codes are a direct swap or not and if the C codes you're talking about are SRW or DRW.
