DTC Codes P0678 & P0675???

My SCT tuner is showing I have the following DTC codes P0678 and P0675. The description shows cyl 5&8 glow plug circuits are open.

Can anyone tell me this means and what the possible causes and fixes are?

Thanks in advance

First of all Militant83Welcome to the FTE. About a month ago I had a p0675 code and my son and I changed it out with a new glow plug. I think it was about 13.00 dollars and our time to do it.

Thanks, My local shop is saying it can be the glow plugs or the glow plug control module. But they want somewhere around $125 in labor to do the work. Not sure if this is something I can tackle on my own or not.

Militant83 that's is correct, it could be either one and not ruling what it is the task in hand. My neighbor had to replace the passenger side glow plug harness. It can be expensive thru your local ford shop, but if don't have some mechanical skills to work on these trucks, then maybe you will have to use your local shops..

Yeah, I can tear down any firearm from a 50 cal machine gun to a glock but when it comes to cars my skill is limited to parts on the outside of the motor. When it comes to taking things out of the motor my skill and tools are lacking.

I can't figure out how to create a post, so I will try it here. I had a code P0678 (#8 glow plug), it wasn't causing a problem, I cleared the code and it would come back in about a month, now it comes back constantly so I decided to change out glow plugs 2,4,6,and 8 since I had the drivers side valve cover off. After reassembling now I get error codes P0678 and P0676 (plugs 6 & 8) well this sucks, now what? Is there something I should check before having to take off the valve cover again? Thanks in advance.
