If the plastic piece is gone I used duct tape until I found a good one at the junk yard worked for a few months. Ghetto I know but it was winter and I wasn't picking parts off trucks in weather in the teens.
If it is the striker bushing I wouldn't suggest getting a replacement from the junk yard. I've done that only to have the junkyard one crack within a couple weeks. You can buy brand new ones at Autozone or the like. They are usually in the Help section.
I actually work at advance. But i checked it and it seems fine. I did noticed a weird button a few inches below the stricker, does anyone know what that is?

Sounds like the switch fir the door chime/interior lights.
I thought that too but there isnt one on the passenger side, and the dome light comes on when that door is open but doesnt when the driver door is open.
It seems like no matter how hard i close my door it seems like its not closed all the way.
I saw this on a tv show (the problem was window was not rolling down properly)
this has nothing to do with the door (yet)
I replaced the speakers in my door (and wouldn't you know it the drivers side door seemed "sticky" to roll down) it wasn't the window regulator)
the tv shows solution was to spray silicone spray (I got some from Wal-Mart (liquid wrench brand for under $3 dolla)
sprayed that on the window regulator on both the drivers side vent passenger side vent windows AND window regulators (had to remove door panel anyway) result :SMOOTH. windows roll down effortlessly.
sprayed some on the key lock (inside and outside) and door button for the hell of it
(my door wouldn't shut all the way either) sometimes
sprayed some on the adjustment striker for the hell of it.
result (smoother shutting doors)
may not work in all cases.
thought I would share my experience.]
also had this happen on a s10 chevy (the plastic bushing was broked) replaced plastic bushing (drive the pins out with a cold rolled chisel) and reinstall with a round flat chisel ( adjustment and the shutting of the door corrected) lots of videos on youtube on the procedure and tools needed. (had to take the whole door off) helpful to have a extra hand around.

also you can adjust the door hinge, the hinges that go to the cab are adjustable up and down, and the hinge connected to the door and for side to side.
