2014 Super Duty My Ford Touch No Volume on Start Up

2014 Super Duty with My Ford Touch. Lately when I get in the vehicle after a brief shut down, the radio comes on and displays correctly but there is no sound/volume. If I power it off and back on it comes back on. Is this normal? Any way to stop it from doing this?

Same hear, mine didn't do this in the beginning but have noticed it doing it the past few weeks. Got a 14. Where is the IT guy Antonio when you need him?
obviously our trucks were built on the same day!!

Is the software current? My 13 used to do this once in a while, but has not done it that I recall since I did the latest update. But granted most people put more miles on thier trucks in a month than I do in a year, I may not have the most valid info.................

I have the same issue. Very erratic. does not always happen.

My software is up to date.

I have not taken mine in as I don't want them to experiment with a new pcm flash and then get lower fuel mpgs.

Truck was built in Oct 13. It's not a big deal to power off the radio then power back on, just wondering if this is normal or not.

I have no idea why I looses communication. I have tried just switch stations or going to fm/am/sat and none of that works. Just on and off to make it work.

Guess this is just a normal annoyance of this system. The non My Touch NAV unit in my 2011 came on every time with sound, but this system with the SONY speakers and whatever else they did vs the old system sounds so much better and I like the larger screen, layout and function of it. Only other issues I'm having and had with both trucks is my iPhone seems to randomly pair. Some times it will pair a few times without me doing anything, mostly if I don't mess with the phone and check email or something else, but sometimes even leaving the phone alone and in the truck I can get back in and it looses connectivity. There seems to be no set pattern so most of the time I have to turn off bluetooth in my phone then turn it back on to get it to connect to the vehicle. I thought upgrading to a 2014 would have solved this problem, but apparently not. I've contacted Apple and they had me upgrade the operating system of the phone but still no luck. This phone pairs no problem with my wife's GM vehicle so there's some kind of issue/incompatibility between Ford's SYNC system and the Apple iPhone.

Yes, it really is good. Play with the nav and you can have it avoid some routes. I have it avoiding tolls.

I am just not willing to do a reflash as risk lower fuel mpgs.

Along with the radio, my 2013 would also turn off the heater controls. I then noticed that my key wasn't always being recognized by the ignition switch (would not always hear the chime). Dealer replaced the ignition switch and so far so good.

I bought a new 2014 F350 a month ago and it did this radio thing from the start. If I push the Voice Command Button and tell it to tune to Sirrus (Pick your Station) The radio will start to play. Turn it off it may or may not work when the truck is restarted. The Radio will show the Song being played on shut down. If it does not come on at start and I use the Phone upon hanging up the radio will start to play. The Truck has been back to the dealer three times already. Work done was a Soft reset, Hard reset, and the radio has been replaced Twice so far. It is scheduled to return to the shop next Tuesday 22 April.

This and the front end feels like not enough Caster is set for the truck. Feels Dartee. My 2011 Dually felt good. the F150 I was given as a loaner feels tight and right. Another thing to be fixed.

Funny you mention this. Mine feels the same way. Dartee. I wouldn't say my 2011 was perfect but it felt more planted than this one. Is your new one also a dually or SRW?

My 2014 also does it. sometimes at start up and sometimes when I end a phone call the radio will not return unless I hit the power button off and then back on. It's not the worst thing in the world but for $65,000 it kind of pisses me off.

Mine is a 2014" Single Rear wheel.

Two days ago the DEF Below 500 miles remaining warning came on. Two days prior I checked the screen and it did not show the 1/2 remaining message.
1650 miles on the truck so I called the Dealership and they said bring it in and they would top it off. It took a 1.75 gallons to top off. The Warning counted down to about 463 miles today before it went away. First time this has happened to me. The 2011 always went to half then under 800 miles remaining when I checked it

Yup, I have a 2014 f250 and sometimes when I start it up or end a phone call the radio has no volume. Same deal, I just turn it of and back on and its good to go.

In my 2013 F150 the heater would turn on randomly. Also with the remote start both me seats heating element would be on. Pretty strange.
