I made him a deal yesterday. I figure all of that is worth one whole summer of grass cutting. What do you guys think? I don't think that's unreasonable I'm even cleaning up his old nasty wheels for him!

A whole summer of grass cutting? That's it?! man the deals keep coming. tell ya what...I'll come live on the property in my RV, cut your grass all summer AND wash your trucks once a week for his truck.

Hahaha. That's good. After what I went through as a kid I decided on a ride em mower. It's got a beer holder. Just gotta figure out where to mount a cooler.

Well, Smokey is pretty much in one piece and out of the shop. Still have a lot of work to do to it. We need to pull the rear drums and diff cover. I took it for a little better test drive this evening and heard some unwelcome noises coming from the rear end. I'm hoping it's something in the brakes, but let's face it, this is me we're talking about here.....I'm sure we'll be rebuilding a rear end
Here are a few more pics out of the shop in all of it's multi-colored, one shiny wheeled, needing a bath glory.

Thanks guys. I'm still not sure about that torque converter. It makes that rattling noise when you're not on the throttle. It may have to come out and get a new one when he has the money. If we can get it 100% mechanically sound, then there are a lot of dents that need fixed, and paint. We put the black grill and headlight bezels on it so they can be painted black to match the truck when we paint it. Jason wants to black the whole truck out. From here on out I guess we'll just be working on it when he gets some extra cash.
I've really enjoyed doing this with my son. That is the best part. I hope we can make him a good truck out of it.

Black the whole truck out, but run some crystal headlights/signals and some nice 10" wide polished or chrome wheels. That would make me have a crisis. Lol
