52 Flathead and HD 3 speed
Took the 52 to a car show today and the subject came up that the Coyote engine came in for it yesterday. Friends later tell me they have someone who wants to buy the Flathead from the truck. I spoke to him for a few minutes and he asked how much? I have no idea as I'm still months away from the engine swap. Later my wife told me the guy wants to use it for display, doesn't care if it runs. I don't want this to happen to a good running V8 Flathead a HD 3 speed floor shift trans. So the question is, how much is something like this worth and are there guy's on here even looking for them. I know freight is always an issue. Would just feel better seeing the engine go back into a truck and keeping another one on the road.

A running flathead v8 in good running condition should be worth at least a grand.
Add up the cost of all bolt on accesories. Water pumps, ignition, carb, etc. All those little things can add up quick.
Is the trans a T-87 ? If so i could be interested in that, but dont know what they go for?

Is the engine rebuilt? Have you been into it at all? How's the compression, and oil pressure? Just running, with no indication of cracks, no bad noises, and all accessories, I'd say up to $700 for the engine. If the trans is in good shape, I'd say around $300, those are sought after. Just have to find a local buyer...

I would love to keep it but have no room. Currently the truck budget is operating like the government, in the red. Selling the take off parts will really help. It is in excellent condition so will have good gauges, radiator, front suspension, engine and trans to dispose of. Won't be a great amount of income but should help.

Hook up a vacumn guage to it as well before you yank the engine out. That will also help to determine condition of engine if you follow the steps to check those readings.
Im not in any hurry but keep me in mind on the trans, may have a use for it. I had one but the case was cracked and the inside was rusty so off to the south seas of china it went.
Btw. Is Rimrock near Sedona AZ ?
