1988 4.9 f150 vacuum "coffee can"

during some earlier work I was doing on my truck I had to remove the passenger fendwell and thus remove the coffee can reservoir... I can not for the life of me remember where these vacs go.. and the diagram on the air box might as well be in Spanish. any help would be appreciated! thanks guys

the coffee can as it is usually has a molded rubber connector on the line side and fits a certain way. at times there is a reverse check in the line preceding the can, at others it is in the can itself. the can in question provides vacuum for the 'triple pack' solenoid set near the coil which provide vacuum for the egr, thermactor valve etc.

there is btw, another can under the coolant tank that provides vacuum for the cruise and something else. check both for integrity. they rust, they leak, they aint available.

if you need one, I have found that the big plastic vacuum ***** used on GM big cars work well - assuming you have a yard with any left.

PS - I know for a fact that gluing the cans ports to the lid of a cranberry juice bottle, no matter how seemingly sturdy, will not work. Its neat tho watching a cranberry juice bottle, no matter how seemingly sturdy, magically become flat plastic in front of your eyes in about 20 seconds.

The Vacuum Reservoir stores vacuum and provides "muscle" vacuum. It prevents rapid fluctuations or sudden drops in a vacuum signal such as those seen during an acceleration period.

would this have anything to do with warm start issues I have with this truc? cvold start is great , it warms up I shut the engine off and try to restart it I have to hold the gas down and wait for it to hit the it loads up and misfires for about 10 sec the runs fine. also a little bit of idle fluxuation
