Very, very good acquisition even if you don't use it for this project----it could be resold for at least double what you're paying for it.

Once or if you find the source of that noise please do let us know---and again hoping its nothing too serious.

so i meet the guy last night and then picked up the motor today .. the guys wifes best friend since childhood had him rebuild the tranny on this 2003 f250 and a week later she rolled it so he took the whole truck as payment ( truck looked messed up it was there ) any who he has done all the maintenance and work to the truck since it was new so its a god motor and he is a diesel mechanic with some major toys that would make us jealous ( ford guy too) so there it is .. in all its effen glory ( this thing is HUGE)

And we think they look huge only when installed!

So are you still in the process of removing the old engine or putting the new one in? Looks like a lot of work!

Easy part is tearing into it----hard part comes fitting it back together!

i am about 3 hours in .. i have been taking my time on this because i have no garage and it is windy and rainy and well i have 4 vehicles to use lol ... of which 2 others are usable for doing some work lol going to take the bumper off and then pull the motor out ...

then on to its own engine stand to be picked apart.. the donor motor is fully dresses sitting on its own engine stand and covered with a tarp on 5 sides lol then i will see the sertian differences on the motors .. swap some things over take some things off swap the old wieringharness on to the new motor .. yada yada yada .. and then shoehorn the new one in .. probibly in three pieces .. long block then intake asembily then throttlebody ..

i rember the first big thing i took apart and put back togeather .. it was 1990 and i was 8 years old .. it was a comertial photocopyer .. you know those things have 35 mirros ... hat it torn apart and back togeather in three days lol ..

you want to know something scarry .. i have a photographic memory for taking things apart and puting them togeather ...i have not labled a single thing lololol

after three hours the motor is out .. and a 40lb thing of cat litter was used lol

Would be interesting to see the timing chain condition of the old motor......(my V-10 has 295k!)
