Transmisson lag

My 1999 Expedition Eddie Bauer with the 5.4 16 valve motor & AWD, has a shift lag between reverse & drive when not fully warmed up. The lag is about 10 second before the truck will move. Has anyone else run across this, and if so what was your fix?
Thanks in advance

How many miles on the tranny? You checked the fluid level and it's correct ? How many miles since the fluid and filter was changed ? If the fluid's not too old and it's at the correct level you can try running some Seafoam Trans-tune in it to clean out the valve body. That's all I got.
