Which power steering fluid change method?
This is what I plan to do, please let me know what is wrong and what I am missing. The 'Engine off' or 'Engine on' is where I am finding conflicting info after searching the internet. Thank you.
Engine OFF
Jack up truck so front wheel are off the ground
Open PS reservoir cap.
Disconnect PS return line (rubber line with hose clamp), route to bucket, and drain, while turning steering wheel back and forth a few times.
Engine still OFF and to remain OFF.
Start to add new fluid while someone turns the wheel back and forth until you see new fluid coming out of the return line.
Reconnect the return line and continue adding fluid until reservoir is at fill line, no fluid drop and no froth.
I see the write up a few threads down on the front page. It says to do it with the engine off. I've also read about the method with the coil wire remove and starter engaged.
