5.6k mod Can it hurt anything.
Hello guys.
I just did the 5.6k mod to my truck and I gotta say I can definitely tell a difference.
Take offs are crazy - Anything below 55 feels like a rocket.
My idle seems fine. There a slight lobe when slowing down and coming to a stop. Nothing to bad.(Once I stop or after about 5 secs or so it stops)
However I noticed that it seems to lose its pep the higher it gets in rpms - It did not feel as if it had as much power as before (With out the Mod)
It seemed sluggish (Lose of power) At 55 and 65.
It felt like it had more power at higher speeds before with out the mod. It sounded like it was ether flooding or starving for fuel... Idk
I also noticed that cruzing with the cruise control on - if i stepped on the throttle it sounded like it claddered. Maybe it was all in my head - The oil pressure seemed normal.
My main question is can this mod hurt anything???
Last thing I need is to burn up my engine.

I can't open that file on my phone.
Do you have it wired inline or pushed into the ICP plug
It won't hurt it. All it is doing is making the ICP lie to the PCM saying the injectors aren't getting enough oil so the PCM steps up the psi to the injectors
Try a higher one like 10k or 14.7k
It may work better. Mine didn't like the 10k it 20k

There no doubt it helped take off.
It almost feel like - when you jump on it - it responds better.
Example - If I floor it from a dead stop and hold it to the floor until i get to 60 ish - after about 30ish it feels like it lose a bit of its pep with the mod in place vs without the mod. If I push it (WOT) to 30ish and let off & cruze for a sec or so and then get on it again it has more pep.
Without the mod - its laggy or dogish on take off but has awesome top end.
It almost feels like iv lost some of the top end - like there something wrong when it gets over 2000ish rpms. Thanks for your time bro.

The only way to tell for sure if you're making any improvement with this modification is put your truck on a chassis dynomometer and try the different resistor combinations.
Also, the symptoms you're mentioning sound like your fuel pressure may be a bit low. Have you tested your fuel pressure to verify it is in specifications? (50 - 80 PSI)
Edit:
f350hammer, take a read through my ICP Mod thread from several years ago. You can see the results from the different resistor combinations I made and the effect they had on MPG, too. Here's the link: IDMooseMan's ICP Mod Thread

There no doubt in my mind what so ever there is way more power taking off - to the difference between night and day.
Ill check the fuel presser asap. Thanks.
