Hey guys & girls I hang out on 7.3 forum, My son got a 2012 eco 150 wanted to know what you guys think of the AFE twin tube with cross over intake. Also dry or wet filter. Also that 10 foot muffler has to go. Another toy to play with!! Thanks, John
I have one on my truck and its a nice piece, easy install, looks great under the hood. It adds some sound which I like. Little to no power added, unless you get a tuner along with it. I did back to back pulls with my truck stock tune and stock air box vs stock tune and AFE stg 2 and seen no gains. I should have done one tunes with stock box vs tuned with intake. I still dont think you see the gains you want but at the end of the day its mostly due to tuning. I do like the whistle and by pass noise. I have the oiled blue filters.
Yes I dynoed it and seen no gains when compared to the stock air box with a tune. I really don't believe anyone sees much of any gains with an intake on these vehicles. I had a similar result with a focus st which has a 2.0 ecoboost.
Thanks, dyno tells the story, I don't see how they claim the readings, most CAI do about 5 to 10 on dyno's more so on diesel, i'am a diesel guy, thanks again.

All I can say is that I've read somewhere the stock setup already flows more air than the engine can use, probably why CAI's are ineffective at any measurable gains. Maybe just do a drop in upgrade like aem dryflo or afe pro dry, then save money for tuning if your wanting more power. Tuners are working miracles with this little v6.
That's what i'am finding also, seems like the exhaust is the choking point, we're going to start there, looking for MPG's more than anything, truck is avg.18 3.73 gears, and has more than enough power. Thanks for info.
