Anybody know of a good scan tool to have for these trucks for troubleshooting things? Something that would tell you what's wrong and or be able to test things from the scanner as well?

I just purchased an UltraGauge to use in another vehicle, and so far it is everything I could ask for. Inexpensive as well, I paid $80 with mounts and shipping.

What motor do you have? Autoengenuity is one of the most popular around here. It can read live data, codes, and perform trouble shooting tests.

Edit: Guess I could have checked your profile. 06 F250, 6.0 I assume?

Seems like those are the more popular ones..I was thinking of either getting a autoengenuity or scanguage2. Not sure if one does more then the other

I think the AE will do a little more but it has to be run on a lap top. Scan gauge is a stand alone unit mounted in the truck.

Have you used the UltraGauge on your Ford Diesel? How did it work?
