Super Duty Axles Under OBS

my buddy has a pair of axles out of a 2000 f350 he wants to put under his 95 F250 and was wondering what all he needs to make it work the super duty axles are setup for 4 wheel disc and we were unsure of any other parts that need changing to make them work properly i think he's getting a hydroboost unit of the super duty to go with the axles

IIRC the rear bolts in. If you have the springs, I think you need to drill out the hangers to a bigger bolt size. I did with my 550 springs, I think you have to with them too. The front needs the perches moved a little on each side. I don't remember which way for sure, but I think they need to be moved in a little.

1. Use a 90's F super duty (F450) hydro booster. Bolts right in. It need to power the rear disc brakes better.

2. The rear is a swap right in. May need to change the drive shafts.

3. The front is a lot more work. How much? Well it be easier to a F350 obs 60 under it and machine the rear hubs to match.

hes not gonna like hearing that lol he sold his OBS 60 to a guy doing a 2x4 to 4x4 conversion so he could by these axles lol i told him it was a bad idea that disc brakes in the rear was pretty much pointless since he isn't gonna be towing constantly but he did it anyway. how do you move the front perches??

You cut them off, slide them over, and re-weld them. I thought that was all that needed to be done. Besides maybe driveshaft work.

So he converting a coil spring to leaf springs? Steering going to go down. I'm making my 00 a 4x4 but using 06 axles.

If so he will need to box the front of the frame. Strip all the coil stuff off. Add a super duty reverse shackle kit. Make a custom sway bar bracket with bar. IMO it more work then worth if he not towing a lot and heavy. Also most super duty front axles are solid Dana 50's not 60's.

yea the truck the Super Duty axles are going under is a F250 4x4, we had a 90's D60 he was gonna use but sold to another guy doing a 2x4 to 4x4 conversion, all so he could get the money do by this pair of axles to have disc brakes in the rear, why i honestly don't know.... now he's trying to figure out how to make it all work, i had told him before he will need hydroboost im sure and so he's got the hydroboost out of the super duty that the axles came from though im not sure how to hook it up as iv'e never messed with hydroboost or this kind of axle conversion.

I wouldn't think that would be too hard to make work.

this is going to turn into a disaster i think, i haven't been around the truck or anything to take measurements and advise him prior to doing all this cause its an hour and a half away and our works schedules are different, his schedule is changing so we will have the same days off and hes gonna want me to help put this all together.... lord what did i get into. not to mention im working on my truck in the schools shop during the week but all im doing is rebuild parts that are supposed to be on my truck lol not fabricating

I don't think it would be that bad as long as you have the tools. I was going to do it with my truck as I was turning it into a dually, but the axle costs stopped me. I just stayed with my 50 up front and got an older dually rear.
