so is barn find original seen as rat rod ? 50 F1

Guys, i stoped at vintage ford truck parts store today, To pickup a few parts, i stoped there last year when i had my first p.o.s rusted 48 F1, the owner of the store asked if i still had my F1, i told him i sold it, and got a cleaner 50, i showed him photo, told him it was pretty much rust free, i told him i was keeping it 100 % original the way i found it, He said why would you keep it that way, it going look like a damn rat rod, and the paint wasnt original and kept picking out things that arnt rigth with my truck, so is me keeping it the way i found it rat rod ? Im keeping the 226 and three speed trans, I just wonder if hes upset that i have the truck and not him, ive ran into a few guys like that so far...

It's your truck and you decide what looks best. It took 64 years for the truck to look the way it does now, it will only look this way once.
The only opinion that matters is yours.

I agree.... I have many people telling me what I need to do to my truck. Sorry, but I am keeping it the way my dad liked it. It just makes me feel good

I want my '59 to ride, steer, and stop like it did in '59. Keep your truck whatever way makes you happy....don't let anyone spoil your fun!

He is in business to sell parts. Encouraging change will make him money. Simple as that. Your truck, do as YOU please.

I remember when I was a young man and cared what people thought about how I did things..... The important thing is that you are actually doing something constructive, in the real world, like the old days.

Ya, I wouldn't get parts from that feller anymore. As everyone says, do as you please. I think your truck looks good and its great that you saved it!

He may well be envious. Ultimately you get to do it your way, however, there is nothing wrong with hearing an opposing veiwpoint from time to time. If a man dosen't have an opinion, he isn't worth knowing!

Rugged individualism is one of the things that made this country great in the first place. Not conformity!

I agree with what has been said. Nothing wrong with seeking advise, but you should aways use your own judgment.
