They gave the svt raptor 4 doors well how about a truck bed big enough to actually use?!? Not sure what's the point of having a truck if the bed isn't big enough to haul a kiddie pool...

Any rumors of a 6 foot bed in the future? I been holding out for one for the last 2 years.

 

They wont do that to the raptor. Kind of defeats the purpose. If you need to haul something why not get a small trailer? If you can afford the raptor a 16 flat bed trailer should be no issue.

when we rode in my stepsons it had 4 doors and I don't recall the bed being 'small'

95% of all F150s on the road do not have real truck beds, that is the one reason I had to step up to an F250

I dont see them doing that to the raptor, its not designed for that, its a sport truck not a work truck, granted I am sure some of you guys use them for home projects and such, but that was not the intended design...

 

The bed is a 5.5' bed where as yours is a 6'8" i think they are

 

So the consensus is that 4 real doors are sport truck but a 6 food bed is against the law lol. Not exactly the best arguement but it does make sence. The truck was not made for the working man.

 

Nope not at all. But the longer wheel base would make the truck less nimble in off road situations. I never used to like the 5.5 bed that came on the Supercrews but with that 09+ having the huge flat load floor and back seat I could deal with it. I'd prefer the 6.5ft bed but I'd be alright with a crew and a 5.5.

 

The 4 door 5.5 bed and the supercab 6.5 are the same length frame. I got why the made a supercab with a 5.5 to keep the wheelbase short.

Makes me wonder what people are smoking when they think the 6.5 foot bed is so wrong but 4 doors are just so right.

 

The longer bed would defeat the purpose of the Raptor. It was made to be an entry level starter kit for the person that really wants to push it off road and still be able to drive the truck daily. If you really want a fullsize bed and stout off road capabilities, just get a used supercab F-250 with a 5.4. Supercharge it, headers and full exhaust system, programmer, fiberglass the front and rear quarters, long travel shocks and at that point you'll be about as capable or more as a Raptor and still be under the 55k water mark. Probably more things to do but that is the start. My .02

 

Once again I agree with 0% of these posts. If it defeats the purpose to have a one foot longer bed it should be a sin against man kind to have two extra heavy doors. Youre arguement is moot.

On top of all that a 250 with a 5.4 would be a misrible idea. I'd rather put wheels on my dog house and take that offroad.
Everybody makes offroad kits for the standard f150 and every one of them are better than what the raptor is. I just rather have a factory truck. No issues no worries and a warrantee.

 

Unless of course, you make a video of you and your Raptor hitting hard step-ups at 60+ mph.

 

The big picture is you will never be able to please all the people all of the time. IMO these type of trucks were not designed to haul anything major in the bed. Just like most of the SCREW trucks they are designed to be able to haul small things in the bed. I think it is perfect like it is. Sort of the same story with my previous SuperDuty 4 door short bed truck, that people would tell me it was a waste not having an 8 foot box on the truck. But I was happy with the truck the way it was.

 

I dont see the use in a truck without an 8' bed. The Raptor is the exception. It is designed to be a toy. Toys only need a short bed.

 

Here is one use. There are plenty of other uses as well.

 

I guess I meant for me. I use mine for work and play. Yours seems to do the job just fine.
