E serie seats compatibility

Hi there,
I am looking to change my front seats in my 88 e350, so i found 2 nice and comfortable captain chairs from a 92 palm spring e150 i guess, i would like know if they right bolt or if i will have somme mod to do?
Before i had a 83 f250 reg cab, i switch with a 93 f150 bench seat and it was right bolt.. i am wondering if it the same for the E serie.
Thanks

Your '88 matches up to '91. '92 and later are different and the pattern on the floor and the floor itself are different. Not sure you can easily mod on to match the other. I sold the aftermarket seats and bases from my '85 and had a fellow with the later version come by and look at them. He looked at his set up and passed on my older stuff, saying it was going to be too much to change them over. I don't recall the details, but I think the older ones are too narrow for the new factory bolt holes.

Given the nature of the beast, I would look for seats that matched the original pattern and not modify anything. There are billions out there, so why end up with a compromise when you can get an exact fit.

Good luck with it.

Thanks, it's good to know, i thought that it will be easy to find my captain chairs but no way where i live. At 200 km (120 miles) around where i am, i find only the 92 palm spring captain chairs.
I am addict to modification, i also found for cheaper 2 captain chairs from a grand voyager, they are in tan leather, they will match perfect with my beige interior.
Also for the driver seat I am looking to adapt a mechanical suspension seat like the air ride seat in the semi. I found interesting idea with the mitsu montero frame seat. I plan to drive a lot with my cube van, so i need the best for my back.
Any advise about the driver bouncy seat?

What is the compatibility of a 2000 E-250? I also am looking to replace my drivers' seat but don't know what model years are the same...

Probably the E seats from 92 until 2007, at least 97 until 07 as they looks like they didn't changed the chassis/cab, but 85e150six4mtod will probably comfirm this.

The aftermarket lists them as:

'69-'74
'75-'91
'92-'95
'96+

Ford Van Seat Bases, driver, passenger seat bases

The seats may fit on the bases, but the bases won't fit on the floors as best I can tell.

Aftermarket seats seem to use a 8"x11" seat to base pattern. I have no idea what stockers are, or if they changed every model update the same as the base to floor.

Not sure if this will prove helpful;

That base is from the right side---floor photo also of right side 2003 E250.

Typically '92-'96 should interchange no sweat---'97 to at least 2010 also the same.

Seats are almost never in short supply---its the bases that seem to be most elusive.

Well that's good news for me at least. I have a 2000 E-250 but with seats that have no arm rests. I'm assuming then that I can pick up just about any seat that came from a '96 or later and be good... Thanks!!

'97 and later would be your better match---not sure about the '96 so don't want to say yes without being able to be definite.

Check into the seat belt mounting and compatibility. I tried this a few years ago and found the seat belts were the problem in trying to switch seats.

I don't mean to highjack this thread but I was thinking of replacing my drivers seat with the seat immediately behind it (middle driver's side).

I plan on using the same driver's base but unbolting the actual seat bottom and swapping the two seats.

The reasoning is that my driver's seat is badly worn out and the middle row is almost new.

Does anyone know if it will work as easy as I think it will? (I never use the middle row seats)
