2014 Bogs, Pulls, Shows, Drags, Events

If you have an event in your area that you think other members would enjoy attending post it up here.

Give us a brief description of the event, a date, a location, and a link to the event if possible.

It will be a great way to meet up with other members and check out some cool stuff at the same time.

Does not have to be just truck related. Open to all hobbies.
*Car shows. Bike Drags. Historic stuff. Gun and knife shows. Boat shows. Fishing. Hunting. Dogs. Planes. Wilderness stuff. Museums. Etc..*

Two upcoming events that I'm planning to attend:
  1. Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th. In Raleigh. In the Jim Graham Bldg. on the State Fairgrounds.
A few of us are going to the Dixie Gun & knife show on Sunday Jan. 19th. If someone else wants to go we can work around schedules.

Don't forget to check website for coupons. And if you're packing you got to check your rig in. Read the instructions on the website. Best to leave it in the car unless you're selling.

Raleigh Show

  1. Saturday Feb. 15th at 3pm. Jumping Run Creek Mud Bog. Hubert, NC. Gates open at noon. Racing starts at 3pm
Our very own chapter member 77mud is competing on Saturday. Right now I'm planning on taking my whole family to this event. I checked and we have the weekend open and we'll mud bog it Saturday and visit family while we're down there on Sunday.

Happy New Year! | This our 17th Season!! Mud Bog, Flat Track and Fun!

Well the weather started off like this:

It was cold, blowing and wet all day. But clearing they kept saying. The wife and I had a nice morning together. The kids and dog were at the grandparents. We were on the island and had the whole day to play before the mud bog.

Well they were right. It finally cleared up right before dark:

Just in time to watch the kids run. One boy and one girl and they both put the hammer down and it was fun to watch. Pretty sure they both put up better times then some of the men.

This is our own 77mud (Larry) Who I think could have took his class if he had got a second pass. But he said he had starter issues between runs and it shut him down. Unfortunately we were never able to meet but there's always next time.

This guy smoked the small pit:

This guy pretty much ran for fun as no one else in his class made a pass. He grinded through the big pit first pass. Then got bogged down about 3/4 through his second pass and shot mud about 25 feet in the air. It was pretty awesome.

It was a nice facility and friendly folks. We'll be back. Maybe when it's warmer and there are a few more rigs running. But definitely worth the stop if you're in the area and it's running.

Here is a video of one of the Ol' Blue racing team trucks, drove by my younger sister (one of the kids that ncheavymetal mentioned) and she is 7 years old.

and her second pass.

my younger brother drove the same jeep and won his class by over a second.

and then there is my Pass, I was the first truck in the pit, and first pass of the year, i chose a side, and it turned out to be the wrong side, but like was stated only got one pass because my starter locked up.

I don't think I can make this one but putting it out there for anyone interested.

Dixie Deer Classic:

The Dixie Deer Classic - The Wake County Wildlife Club, Raleigh NC

This weekend. Fri, Sat, Sun. All the details and schedules are on the web link. Lots of cool stuff to do and see out there. I think it used to last a few days longer but maybe I am mistaken. It's been a few years since I've been.

If anyone goes post up some details and tell us how it went. Have fun.

James, The show I mentioned is in Denton NC on the weekend of May 16-17. It's called the AMCA Southern National Meet. This years theme is race bikes, but all makes are welcome. I was a great day last time I went there. If any one is interested post up maybe we can all get together.
