Lift kit on a 79 F150 with Reverse front leaf
Hi Everyone
My 79 F150 has reverse front leaf spring and stand leaf at the rear. It want to put a 2 inch lift kit (cant go more than 2 inches here due to laws in Australia) but not sure if i should try and keep the reverse front or switch to standard or move to coil spring with dual shocks?
Any recommendations on this would be awesome!
Cheers

Easiest and certainly less costly, is to get an Add-a-Leaf kit.......typically you gain an inch, certainly wont go over 2 inches. you may need longer U-bolts to install........Part of the reason you havent gotten a lot of responses is due to the fact that here in the US, only the SuperCab 4x4 F150's have front leaves. Regular cab F150 4x's have front coils, so its not a common configuration for us. Im thinking that they only built these domestically 78 and 79.

thanks
cheers for the reply, yep this was a certainly the case of it not being common. I brought the truck in Montana but traced it back to Salt Lake City delivered in 1979 but build started in 1978. The Marti Auto report supports it was not common.
Should i get the leaf flipped at the front to non reverse or move to coil?
cheers

Flipping the leaves wont do much.........the leaf springs are 35 years old, and metal fatigues......As i stated before, look at an add-a-leaf kit, with one more spring added to the pack( going from 2 leaves to 3) you should be okay.........Moving to coils would be a MAJOR undertaking. Did you read my entire post before...........ADD-A-LEAF kit
