Oil leak...need mechanic in Bakersfield,CA
Dad passed away in April and I inherited his beloved truck. It is a 2001 Ford F150 Screw, 4x2, 5.4L engine with 77k miles. The truck sat for over a year while dad was sick and it was his weekend toy.
I noticed oil in the driveway and my husband check fluid levels and the truck was low a quart. Took it to the dealer and he says head gasket and seals are need to be replaced for....$3300! Well I checked in the bottom of my purse and didn't see the money there, so we are looking for a reputable mechanic for a second opinion and cheaper shop rates

Well I got the OASIS report on the truck and this is what I found... at 58K miles the Head Gasket and PCV valves were replaced under warranty and at 64K miles the valve cover gasket was replaced all due to leaks. We are now at 77K miles and per Ford have another Head Gasket leak. Now that I know the history of the truck I'm starting to believe Ford, but not to the tune of $3300. We're still trying to figure out who to take it to. Not willing to let the truck go yet due to sentimental values. Oh what is a girl to do????
